La Comunidad de Práctica de Profesionales de la Información en Second Life pertenece al grupo de comunidades de práctica del Sistema de Bibliotecas de la Universidad de Puerto Rico. Cuyo fin es el que sigue:

Al aceptar la convocatoria para formar parte de las comunidades de práctica nos involuramos en el esfuerzo por adelantar la presencia e inlfuencia de este campo en la vida académica, social y cultural del país. Tenemos muy clara la necesidad y posibilidad de contribuir efectivamente a la formación de una ciudadanía que tenga las competencias de manejar la información que recibe de forma crítica y creativa. Ese es el propósito de esta herramienta, aportar a un mejor país. Ni mas ni menos.” Red Bibliotecaria UPR

Por lo tanto la Comunidad de Práctica de Profesionales de la Información en Second Life tiene como propósito explorar y aprender los mundos virtuales para compartir los conocimientos con colegas, ofrecer información y crear servicios innovadores a nuestros usuarios.

ENGLISH VERSION

The Information Professionals Community of Practice of in Second Life (PIENSL) belongs to the group of communities of practice of the University of Puerto Rico Library System.
Its aim is as follows:

“Accepting the call to be part of the communities practice we engage us in the effort to advance the presence and influential drive of this field in the academic, social and cultural life of the country. We are clear in need and possibilities of contributing to the formation of a citizen who has the competences to handle the information in a critical and creative form. That is the intention of this tool, to contribute to a better country. Nothing more but nothing less.”

Therefore, PIENSL has as goals exploring and learning about virtual worlds to share the knowledge with colleagues, offer information and create innovative services in this emergent digital environment
